Your Community, Your Forum

Every day, decisions are made in our community that affect us directly. While the media is distracted with the goings on in Washington and New York, there are things that are happening right here that can affect our lives far more profoundly.

The value of our homes. The quality of our children's schools. Local policies that affect whether businesses move to our community and create jobs. Zoning and transportation policies that affect the very fabric of the city.

These are just a few of the major issues that decided every day right here in New London.

New London is blessed to have a great local paper in The Day, but their staff is limited. There is only so much space for an article. Only so much detail that a reporter can gather before press time, so the view of the issue is shaded by the nature of the medium.

What if there was a place where people directly involved in the issues that shape the lives of our community could share their perspective directly?

That is one of the missions of Hyperlocal Now. This site is built to be a place to get the perspectives directly from those who are closest to the issues. This is not a place where the loudest voice is heard. It is not a place for namecalling or casting of blame. Rather, it is a place for reasoned discussions about issues that affect the New London community.

Is there a topic that you have particular knowledge of which you would like to share with the community? Email michael@hyperlocalnow.com. Articles of 200 to 2500 words are accepted as long as they are informative in nature and respectful in tone.

We also welcome a variety of topics from city government to better living though healthier choices. If you have something to share, we'd like to hear from you. This is your forum for your community.
