Your Community, Your Forum

The value of our homes. The quality of our children's schools. Local policies that affect whether businesses move to our community and create jobs. Zoning and transportation policies that affect the very fabric of the city.
These are just a few of the major issues that decided every day right here in New London.
New London is blessed to have a great local paper in The Day, but their staff is limited. There is only so much space for an article. Only so much detail that a reporter can gather before press time, so the view of the issue is shaded by the nature of the medium.

That is one of the missions of Hyperlocal Now. This site is built to be a place to get the perspectives directly from those who are closest to the issues. This is not a place where the loudest voice is heard. It is not a place for namecalling or casting of blame. Rather, it is a place for reasoned discussions about issues that affect the New London community.
Is there a topic that you have particular knowledge of which you would like to share with the community? Email michael@hyperlocalnow.com. Articles of 200 to 2500 words are accepted as long as they are informative in nature and respectful in tone.
We also welcome a variety of topics from city government to better living though healthier choices. If you have something to share, we'd like to hear from you. This is your forum for your community.

Of course, this is a just a ploy to get us addicted to their delicious, cool, refreshing drink, and, of course, this ploy will work very well. I know I could go for a frozen coffee right now.
While Dunkin Donuts is a national chain, the local stores are locally owned and active in our local community.
Car Shopping Made Easy
What's the worst part of buying a car? It's the dealerships that keep calling you weeks and even months after you are done car shopping.
How'd they get your number? You gave it to them. Or you gave it to Edmunds or KBB or one of those car web sites. They sell your number to every dealership in town and here you are getting calls 6 months later from the Lexus dealership after you buy your new pick up truck.
There's a Better Way!
Wouldn't you rather be able to contact every dealership in town but not give them your number? You can. The same problem solver tool that helps you find a roofer or an accountant can also help you find a car.
